NEW CUMBERLAND – Charges are pending against a Newell man in connection to an investigation of items stolen from the Fiesta Tableware Co.

According to a press release posted on the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office social media pages Friday, an investigation into two separate incidents of breaking and entering and grand larceny at the company led deputies to the home of Ronald Mayhew Jr., at 417 Abbey Court in Newell.

The report notes the first incident took place the night of May 28 and the second in the early morning of June 3, with multiple Fiestaware products stolen. A search warrant was obtained by deputies as part of the investigation, and a search conducted on Mayhew’s home, where officials reported the seizure of 37 Fiestaware items, along with other evidence.

The Fiestaware has been valued at approximately $2,200, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office reports criminal charges against Mayhew are pending, with no other details available at this time.
