We’re right in the meat of the 2022 NFL offseason, but soon the Kansas City Chiefs will reconvene for training camp. Before you know it, the team will be making its first wave of roster cuts and compiling its 53-man roster.

This past offseason, the Chiefs had 24 unrestricted free agents, which was a significant amount compared to prior seasons. The team saw a lot of personnel changes and a bit of a youth movement as a result of having so many free agents to pay.

As things currently stand on the 90-man offseason roster, the team is scheduled to have 29 unrestricted free agents, 14 exclusive rights free agents and four restricted free agents during the 2023 free agency period. The entire 2019 NFL draft class has just one year left on their respective contracts for Kansas City. Expect some things to change in the next few weeks with players being due extensions, while others will be released when the team trims the roster.
