GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- A person taken into custody after a downtown Grand Rapids shooting killed one person and injured three others has been released pending further investigation.
Grand Rapids police on Tuesday, June 7 confirmed that the person, described Monday by police as the alleged shooter, was released after detectives presented their case to Kent County prosecutors.
Armonie Acklin, 25, died in the 12:15 a.m. June 5 shooting on Pearl Street between Monroe and Ottawa avenues.
Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom on Monday said investigators were sorting out roles of those involved in the 12:15 a.m. shooting.
He said a “long-running feud” between some in a wedding party and those selling items on the street led to an altercation outside Ambiance GR Kitchen & Lounge on Pearl Street.

A man then got two handguns out of a vehicle and opened fire, police said.
