HALL COUNTY, Neb. — A Grand Island man is dead and criminal charges are pending following a crash early Thursday morning between Alda and Wood River.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded around 1:40 this morning to a single-vehicle crash at Schaupsville Road and Wildwood Drive.
The sheriff's office says a 2003 Chevy Tahoe driven by Quentin Scroggin, 19, of grand island was driving recklessly on Schaupsville road when it lost control and rolled.
Law enforcement says five passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash and two were ejected. one of the passengers, Brennan Villatoro, 18, of Grand Island, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other passengers and Scroggin were transported to CHI Health-St. Francis. The sheriff's office says alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
