OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - One man was killed and another seriously injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash at 90th and West Dodge streets.
Omaha Police say a Toyota, driven by James Yungbluth, 63, of Waterloo, and a Chevy Equinox, driven by intoxicated John Caillau, 28, of Omaha, were both traveling eastbound on Dodge when they entered the intersection at 90th and Dodge and sideswiped each other.
The Toyota slid into a concrete wall at an Orbit bus stop and flipped onto its roof. The Chevy jumped the median, hit a median sign and flipped onto its roof in the westbound lanes near 87th and West Dodge, according to an OPD news release.
Yungbluth was pronounced dead at the scene by Omaha Fire Department medics. Caillau was transported to Bergan Mercy with serious injuries.
Charges are pending against Caillau, the news release states.
The intersection of 90th and Dodge streets was closed until 8:50 a.m.
