Pending charges for Duluth man after police seize drugs, weapons from apartment - KBJR 6

DULUTH, MN-- A Duluth man is pending charges after discharging a weapon in an apartment and possession of drugs.

Duluth Police were called to an apartment complex around 3 a.m Tuesday, for a report of gunshots.

When police arrived at the 1500 block of E. 1st Street, the people living in the apartment complex said, a male they knew, came looking for someone in their apartment and fired his weapon into their apartment door and then left.

Later that day around 11 a.m. Duluth Police Violent Crime Investigators and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force conducted a search warrant at an apartment in the complex and detained the 42-year-old suspect.

Police said the suspect was then taken to a local hospital for medical attention not related to the incident.

The suspect will be booked in the St. Louis County Jail on pending charges after being released from the hospital.

Charges could include 1st Degree Sale of Controlled Substance, two counts of 2nd Degree Sale of Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

Police seized a handgun, ammunition, 14.3 grams of heroin/fentanyl mix, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine packaged for sale and marijuana.
