Autopsy results are pending for a man found dead at the intersection of North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Carolina Street early Tuesday morning, a Wichita Falls police spokesman said.
About 12:42 a.m. Tuesday, Wichita Falls police responded to the area to conduct a welfare check, and they discovered Martin Servantes unresponsive, laying on the ground at the intersection, officer Steven Ginger said in a an email Wednesday.
Servantes, 54, was found to be deceased, and a determination of the cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas County, Ginger said.
The homicide investigation is ongoing, and no new information was available Wednesday, he said.
