CARMEL WITH MORE. JAKE.### DAN.. ERIN.. CARMEL HIGH HAS BEEN OPERATING WITHOUT LIGHTS FOR THE PAST 80 YEARS.. AND LIKE YOU TWO JUST MENTIONED.. THERE'S BEEN SERIOUS PUSHBACK... AS PART OF THE CARMEL HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM PROJECT.. FOUR LIGHT POLES WERE EXPECTED TO BE INSTALLED BY THE END OF THE DAY TODAY... AND FROM WHAT WE SEE - ALL FOUR ARE UP.. THE DISTRICT TELLS US ELECTRICAL WORK WILL TAKE PLACE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. THE LIGHTS ARE SCHEDULED TO BE DARK SKY CERTIFIED.. WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO HELP REDUCE LIGHT POLLUTION.. THEY ADDED THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE MITIGATION MEASURES THAT THE DISTRICT WILL BE IMPLEMENTING PRIOR TO THE USE OF THE LIGHTS. THE INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT SAYS LITIGATION BROUGHT BY A GROUP OF NEIGHBORS AND CONCERNED CITIZENS IS STILL PENDING... AND THAT WILL NEED TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE THE LIGHTS CAN BE TURNED ON.
